Airport parking could reduce tube crowding

According to a recent report, around one billion journeys are made on the London Underground transport system every year. London Underground, also known as the Tube, is a major part of the capital’s infrastructure for people travelling for both work and leisure purposes. However, recent increases in the number of people travelling on the tube are putting extra strain on the transport network. One of the reasons for this pressure is that a number of people use the tube to get to London Heathrow airport.

Take the pressure off

Heathrow airport is one of the busiest in the world, with around 69 million travellers passing through it every year; this naturally increases the passenger load on the Tube. One way to combat this extra load on the tube is for travellers to consider driving to and parking at Heathrow airport. Parking at Heathrow Airport could mean that travellers ease pressure on London’s transport network, as well as easing the pressure on their own journey by making it more enjoyable and less stressful.

In the current economic climate, people are budgeting and looking to save money in every aspect of their lives; travel being an area where big savings can be made. Taking public transport to the airport can seem like a good idea at the time but when you factor in the stress of getting to the station, the crowded train, the potential for delays and cancellations and the price of train tickets, it may be a much better idea to drive to the airport in comfort and park up, ensuring that you have booked cheap airport car parking in advance.

Depending on the kind of service you are looking for from your airport car parking, this can be an extremely cost-effective way to start your holiday. Parking services at most UK airports range from the most basic ‘park and go’ solutions, right through to luxury valet-style meet and greet services. Many packages even include hotel stopovers to bracket your flight.

Park up all around the UK

As well as easing pressure on the transport networks of the capital, there are plenty of other airports around the UK that benefit from secure, on-site parking. This includes Birmingham airport, Stansted airport and Manchester airport. Parking, valet ‘meet and greet’ services and park and stay packages are becoming increasingly popular for people who want the convenience of being able to drive to the airport but who still want the peace of mind that their vehicle is safe whilst they are away.

One of the top tips for a stress-free journey to the airport is to arrange your airport car parking in advance and to plan your journey to the airport to ensure that you arrive in plenty of time. This is often difficult to do when it comes to using the Tube, as with overcrowding, you might have to wait for a couple of trains to pass before you can get on board with your luggage. With careful consideration and planning, airport parking could be the solution to your Tube travel woes.

Don’t Take A Chance With London Traffic

London is a major destination for many air travel routes because of the sheer size and number of different airports it can offer. There are of course multiple destinations from Gatwick to Heathrow, but there is also Stansted and Luton as well. Both of these can be great airports to use as alternatives but no matter which London airport you eventually choose there will be surrounding infrastructure to make your trip a lot easier. Choosing the best options though is not always as straightforward as it seems. There are many hotels that surround each airport, with more clustered around the larger airports Heathrow and Gatwick.

These are great for those people who are transferring to other flights that could be the next day or even next week. Hotels like this provide all of the amenities you might expect at any other hotel including room service, gyms, baths, meals, baggage holds and everything else that can take the stress out of transferring. Airport hotels should also be conveniently located within a few miles of the airport itself to ensure easy access and reduce the possibility that you might get stuck in traffic.

At Airport Parking & Hotels, we provide options on hotels which can allow you to book a stay at a hotel as near as possible to the airport that you will be travelling from. Not everybody has the time to visit London for those stays that are only for a night or two, and travelling into the centre can make things very problematic.

London is famous for its traffic congestion and using the Underground can be very awkward for those with lots of luggage. This can mean getting a hotel that is within transfer distance of the airport becomes very important. If it is your first time to London or the UK, you really don’t want to be put off. Of course, many people who are travelling to very specific destinations that only London offers may travel from other parts of the UK to use one of its airports. They too may need a hotel or even parking near to the airport itself.

As you may expect, parking in London is easier said than done, but with our service we can help you to find the best options on Heathrow and Gatwick parking as well as many other airports around the country. London really is an access point to the world with many destinations flying direct from the capital. This can mean that Gatwick parking becomes an integral part of your journey, but it shouldn’t become such a problem that you find it more stressful to take your car.

Our Heathrow and Gatwick parking options give you peace of mind through full 24 hour security options as well as prices that can justify travelling in your car, making it both cheaper and more convenient than ordering a taxi.

Our site is built to be easy to navigate so you can quickly find what you want at any airport around the country.

Greece remains popular holiday destination among Brits

People who make use of car parking at Heathrow Airport have no shortage of options in terms of where they fly to. One of the countries that has long been popular among UK holidaymakers is Greece and it seems that the economic woes affecting the nation are failing to put consumers off travelling there.

According to foreign exchange company Travelex, bookings for all-inclusive packages in the country were up by a third during the last two weeks of May. Many of those flying to this holiday destination will utilise Heathrow airport parking.

Travelex suggested that as many as four million Britons could head to Greece this summer, which is double the average number. Many of the people it polled had deliberately booked vacations to this part of the world because of the strengthening of the pound against the euro.

Meanwhile, some of the packages available cost up to 60 per cent less than usual, so it is perhaps no surprise that many of those who use car parking at Heathrow Airport and elsewhere are tempted by trips to Greece.

Commenting on the issue, the firm’s Elvin Eldic said: “It looks like when it comes to summer holidays, Brits are more concerned about bagging a bargain than whether or not Greece gets another bailout.

“We’d urge Brits to not only take a mixture of cash and a prepaid card but also to take the time to check the terms and conditions of their travel insurance when booking a holiday or travelling to Greece.”

As well as seeking deals, many of those who use Heathrow airport parking during their adventures to Greece may be looking for sunny and warm weather. The country benefits from a largely hot and dry summer. This can be markedly different from conditions in the UK, which are often cool and rainy.
